DRESSES

HOW TO DRESS ON LOW BUDGET
They are two categories of  wrong dressers, the first are those who think they look good just because they are putting on expensive clothes or shoes. The second category comprises of a larger group of people who often say "I don’t have money to look good" or "I look rough because I have no money to buy clothes". According to them "beta soup na money kill am”. This is so not true. You don’t need to be Dangote to look fashionable. You just need to cut your coat according to your clothe.

In fact, you can be in your cheap clothes and still look like a model. A good dress sense is all you need. Dressing is not a question of how expensive, but how appropriate. The truth is that, most times, you look your best when you look simple. Knowing that will free you from trying to look like someone else. Just take the liberty to bring on your own creativity and stardom. The photo below speaks volumes.

Fabric: Ankara, silk and net. All these can be gotten from the open market at a very affordable price. For instance, In Nigeria where I live, two (2) yards of these Ankara cost just #400; 2 yards of silk and a yard of net both amounted  to #400.
Styling: Sketches don't lie! When ideas come along, pen it down immediately. Go to your designer and do a little brainstorming with her. She shouldn’t charge more than #2000 normally. Work done the outlook is awesome.....
Event: Outings, Work, Party, and Premiere.

INTRODUCTION
I remember my first year in the University; we had a picnic at the beach. Tracy-the-classy (as we call her) arrived soon after it all started in her elegant, flamboyant and exorbitant ball gown indeed she was classic. But rather than cheering her as usual the class busted into a wild laughter. But this was the same gown Tracy wore to our fresher’s night and I really admired her, honestly she looked awesome that night. But here and now, on these beach, in that dress, she looks odd and out of place. Can I say, Tracy-classy was looking declassified.
OK…ok…ok, I think the issue here is that dressing is not all about how it looks on someone but maybe more of time, place and other factors. There is an English adage: “how you dress is how you will be addressed” And this is really true, it is not difficult to tell the difference between Ebuka and Mr Ibu (Lolz). A friend of mine said there is a difference between a cook and a chef….ha ha. But come to think of it “how you dress” does not mean how expensive or pauperish your dress is, rather how appropriate your dress for a particular occasion/event is. That means there are different dress codes for various occasions. In fact, we can say that there are as many dress codes as there are occasions. Don’t get me wrong here! While cooperate dresses, for instance, may go for all cooperate events, sometimes what really makes the difference is not the dress itself but the “dress sense and skillful combination of accessories, complements, charisma and other qualities that makes you a ‘head-turner’. An expensive dress could be messed up by a poor dress sense, while a very simple and inexpensive dress could be a boom with good dress sense. As Lagbaja puts it: “Dress with sense”.

IMPROVING DRESS SENSE
There are 7 things that make good dressing
        1. Fabric
       2. Style
      3. Colour combination
     4. Occasion
    5. Accessories
